Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The endorsements keep rolling in! I’m very excited to announce that the Sandy Post has endorsed me in the primary, saying:

“VanOrman, 68, has the experience necessary to serve as a state representative….Her professional experience and public service background serves as the best-possible springboard for a freshman legislator coming out of our district. VanOrman has the ability to make a difference on day one, and we believe she knows enough about the issues facing our district to take advantage of that opportunity.”

This endorsement in addition with endorsements from The Oregonian, Willamette Week, and so many others give me a boost as I’m putting in the hard work needed to win this race. With the primary fast approaching, I’m doing everything I can to get my message out to voters. If you like to help, please contact my campaign manager by email, Logan@Votevanorman.com

Sincerely,

Suzanne

Volunteer Opportunities

Hello District 52,

My name is Logan Egbert and I’m Suzanne’s Campaign Manager for this most exciting race. I am looking for some fearless volunteers to help out with making calls, organizing canvasses, and office work.

It doesn’t take much time to make a huge difference on this campaign. If you’re interested, please send me an email at logan@votevanorman.com or give me a ring at 503-901-4534. I look forward to working with as many of you as possible.

Best,

Logan

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I am excited to add Willamette Week to my list of endorsements!

From the endorsement:

WW endorsed VanOrman in 2006 when she tried to unseat Rep. Patti Smith (R-Corbett). She lost, but she’s back again.

VanOrman, a longtime Head Start educator from Hood River, called herself “Doña Quixote” two years ago. This time, with Smith out of the race, we think VanOrman could do more than tilt at windmills. We think she can win, and we’re excited about her promise to bring health care to more Oregonians.

This is another great boost for me and the campaign, but our work is truly just beginning. I hope you’ll join me in the next few months making by making calls to get out the vote, walking your neighborhoods, and of course supporting me through your generous donations to my campaign.

Sincerely,

Suzanne

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I have been endorsed by The Oregonian for the Democratic primary!

In speaking of my race, they said:

On the Democratic side, VanOrman is the most credible choice. Richkind is campaigning with no money on a platform of peace and decency. He is a very likable guy, but no match for VanOrman, a longtime head of the Mid-Columbia Children’s Council who built up the Head Start program in the area. She almost defeated Smith the last time around and will have another chance to capture the seat in the fall.

I am excited to add the Oregonian to my ever growing list of endorsements and supporters.

See you on the campaign trail!

Sincerely,

Suzanne

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Some of our Sandy friends may have noticed the Sandy Post’s glowing editorialization of Suzanne in its March, 26th edition, but for those who haven’t here it is:

Suzanne VanOrman already has a head start – no pun intended for the former pre-school education executive – over her rivals in both parties. She has been a regular sight at public meetings, chamber of commerce gatherings and local Democrat meetings. She had a sizable fund-raiser in Sandy this past weekend.

We narrowly endorsed incumbent Patti Smith over VanOrman in the 2006 election but declared that either candidate would be a win for the district. VanOrman clearly has demonstrated mastery of the issues surrounding the district, special attention to the Sandy area, and the near-to-locals’-hearts issues of education and healthcare.

She’s a Hood River resident, but you’d never know it by how much she is spotted out here. VanOrman clearly is the candidate to beat..

We here at VanOrman HQ agree, but won’t let that stop us from working hard to get my message out to voters. 2 weeks ago, I began going door-to-door, visiting voters in Hood River. This is just the beginning of what promises to be a very exciting field program! I am excited to meet and talk with you all in the coming months.

Sincerely,

Suzanne

Filing Deadline

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Tomorrow night is the filing deadline, a very exciting night for the
campaign and for a number of campaigns statewide. Ever since Patti
Smith dropped out of this race, we have been expecting the other major
Party to file a candidate for this seat; as of today that still hasn’t
happened. This presents me a fantastic opportunity to capture an open
seat!

So, rather than wait around for a challenger, we have been working
double time to raise funds, talk to voters through our field program,
and continue to pick up momentum with a tremendous amount of community
support and endorsements from some great individuals and groups. Please
take a look at my endorsements page to see a list of some of the folks
who have signed on. Regardless of what happens tomorrow night, I am
looking forward to meeting with more and more of you to talk about my
plan to get Salem focused on what matters to us.

Sincerely,
Suzanne VanOrman

Open House

trifold.jpg

Friends and Fellow-Citizens,

Today I have some great news to share with all of you, we have an office!

Today we began moving into our office space at 8 Fourth Street above the Double Mountain Brewery here in Hood River. In honor of this event and the celebration of Presidents Day, we are having an open house fundraiser Monday February 18th @ 6:00 p.m. We will be showing off our diggs and taking the opportunity to meet as many of you, our friends and neighbors, as possible. We would also be extremely excited to take any office supplies/equipment you are willing to donate! We are in need of pens, notepads, bookshelves, storage bins, a telephone, and a computer that can run Microsoft Office.

Rumor is that the Double Mountain Brewery has the best brews and pizzas in town so come with a healthy appetite, high spirits, and a friend or two.

If you have any questions, drop my campaign manager Logan a line at logan@votevanorman.com.

Sincerely,

Suzanne VanOrman

Welcome!

trifold.jpg

Dear Friend,

Thank you for visiting my campaign’s official website! In the coming weeks and months, I will be sharing a host of information about myself and my campaign for House District 52’s seat in the Oregon House of Representatives.

With Patti Smith retiring, the seat is open and ready for new leadership. I intend to focus on what’s important to our families: investing in our children’s educational future, ensuring that health care is a top priority, and establishing Oregon as leader in the development of clean, renewable energy.

Please check in with us regularly to learn more about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

Sincerely,

Suzanne VanOrman
